Yercaud is a hill station located in the Shevaroys range of hills in the Eastern Ghats. It is in Salem District in Tamil Nadu. Yercaud is famous for thousands of acres of coffee estates, reserve forests, lake, and Montfort Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School. It is also famous for tasty bananas, oranges, figs (red), avocado, passion fruit, tamarillo, eggfruit, and pepper. With large tracts of Bamboo forests, Teakwood forests, and Silver Oak trees Yercaud receives annual rainfall of 1500 - 2000 mm. The lake, several view points, and the prestine environment are the tourist attractions. It is about 235 km from Bangalore and 350 km from Chennai.
